That Rock glacier reminds me of a "coin pusher" machine. The crescent shape of the decomposing mountain is mirrored in the rock flow. I assume that as the mountain falls apart, rocks fall off the ridge and eventually make their way to the rock flow and then the eb and flow of the snow cover as well as the addition of new rocks gradually pushes the flow down the mountain. The ridges could either be echoes of the glacier below as you stated or they could be compression ridges in the flow. If they are the latter, they should get higher as you get closer to the toe since the flow widens out and gets deeper, harder to push.

I think your “choice” of a Honda Forza was a very good one, for all the reasons you mentioned and more. Also, you got it at an excellent price. I owned one for a month that we spent in New Mexico a few years ago. In my case, I had owned many motorcycles and had a Harley Sportster at the time. The Forza, though, was lighter and easier to load into our toy hauler for our trip from home in Minnesota and back. The Forza served me well for some nice rides in New Mexico, particularly for one spectacular jaunt from just south of Truth or Consequences through all the switch-backs of the mountain road to Silver City and back. I think you’ll prove to yourself and your viewers that there’s plenty of adventure on or near the pavement, when you’re as exposed to it all as you are on 2 wheels. I’m really looking forward to the rest of your ride.

I like that the trip you share are good roads and not technical hard routes. Looks easy enough for pick up truck. I looked up Lake Barstow and many different creeks feed Greys River. North, middle, and south Forks creek I saw. Great video.

IN the south sf bay, old train tracks are frequenly used by bicyclists to safely get place to place. There are also several noise barriers next to freeways. There's a map. Trains still run ,(amtrak, caltrain, freight past Tesla) as does BART and light rail but there are at least 4 abandoned lines. There's a map. No joggers, cars, or dogs on the old rail lines or noise barriers. Bicycling is HUGE in the SF bay area.

I'm very jelly of the IDEA of going scooter (or even motorcycle camping), but I've never been into camping, per se. I have two motorcycles, though, and camping equipment from my kids' Boy Scouts days. I could totally do this. The issue that I have with videos like this (and Flatgrind Rides, etc.) is that they paint a beautiful picture of the experience by only showing how peaceful and beautiful everything is. They never show the crappy sleep, crowed campsites, and jackasses two campsites down partying at midnight with their huge trailers whose lights block my view of the stars. This has been the case every time that I've tried camping with my family. Then, there are those videos of people "rough camping" on private land just begging to be shot by a pissed off land owner...

I think I would boondock until infrastructure utilities were built . We build wastewater treatment systems with pump stations which require electrical power but facilities still need access to potable water supply. If it was easy anybody could do it .

Wow I don't know how she lives in that tiny truck. I hope she has reflective for the Windows for privacy and to keep hot and cold out. I'd have to be able to use a toilet during the night without going outside it can be dangerous. She needs maze or Bear spray she may have these things. If she had a roof carrier she would have more room in the truck and be able to then fit her fridge. No way could I do what she is . She's definitely resourceful. I heard her say she has Land and a tiny cabin that's great. Stay safe out there Lesa.

My wife and I are full time RVers and have determined that anywhere you are willing to take the RAV would be accessible with our truck and Fifthwheel camper. The camp spot at the end of this video would be a spectacular spot to call home for a couple days. My wife wants to know why you don't wear a FitBit or something to track your vitals. lol She really wants to know how many calories you burn on a typical hike. Anyway another spectacular video and hike. Thank you for taking us along.

This might’ve been mentioned already, don’t use the front brake on gravel or wet roads. There’s times you need to, but not on turns or curves. When coming into a turn or curve, get your speed in control to safely do so before making it. I’m not sure if you can down shift that scooter, but do that to slow down. MCRider is a good UA-cam channel for riding tips. He covers motorcycle safety, but it pertains to your scooter, too. Safe travels!

Great scooter . My advice to you is to not drive at 70 unless you have too. I’m a long time motorcycle rider and if something happens at 70 you won’t remember what happened, at 50 to 55 your chances of survival go way up. Plus it’s much more comfortable and you can observe more. You can do the math on the travel time at 55. Today I ride a URAL sidecar motorcycle whose top speed comfortably is. About 55. anyway great video . We stayed at a fairground at Rock spring s I think .
